During one fast and furious 3 hour session we learned more than we did all year.

We talked about everything under the sun…tutoring ratios, academic testing standards, fund raising, corporate sponsors, honor codes, transportation of kids, nutrition, and developing our own individual style.

They consistently urged us to think differently and to be bold.

Below are some pics from their facility. Notice the natural light. It’s one of those buildings that somehow make you feel like a better person. This is something that we are also shooting for.

After a year of hard work it was great to kick back and enjoy some laughs with the Progeny family.

In his talk Matthew will dispel the myths surrounding relationships and family, and help us envision the practical steps we can take to build dynamic relationships and raise amazing children.

By thinking big.

I think anybody can talk big about being a great ballplayer. With enough time and energy you could be a one sided gym rat with all the skills and athletic tools to be successful at basketball. I think that’s pretty common. You can find those kids everywhere you look. From years of experience I can tell you that mentality leads to a bad place.

We’re thinking much bigger than that. How about being successful in life. We’re interested in class and strength of character. We’re interested in living generous lives that are centered on Christian principles.

We’re in the planning stage for our new facility. While the gym and weightroom will be second to none the heart and soul will be the academics. The future will look something like this.

Take some time to think about our amazing kids and the potential that they have. What will they look like as a group on graduation day?

Fresh off their championship Sunday…the first grade took a 15 game league winning streak into Monday night’s final four. They had high expectations and everybody looked ready to go.

Cameron Powell was en fuego hitting shots from all over the floor in the first half.

Brevin Jefferson was playing his trademark wild dog defense…guarding opponents’ best player but disappeared on the offensive end. When it was time to put the game away Brev took care of business.

As always it was a full team effort with a lot of defense and hustle. This is a close-knit team and you never know who is going to be hot on a given night.

In the end it was all smiles

After winning the 8u (2nd grade) championship they competed for the 9u (3rd grade) championship and lost by a single point

These kids are fun to watch. They play hard, play together and are all smiles. They pick each other up when they make a mistake and play with a lot of energy when things are going well. They go on runs that put their opponents away.

Their full court press has developed to be beautifully chaotic…a lot of hustle and guys playing for each other…the Progeny style.

The tipoff is at 10:30am vs Chicago Select. Game 2 is at 1:00pm vs Illinois Raptors.
