Haley Turow was born in Indianapolis and attended Lawrence Central High school.  In her senior year at Lawrence Central she participated in soccer, swim, and track. She helped take her soccer team to the regional game where LC lost to north Central and her track team finished 2nd at state.

She graduated from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business with a major in Supply Chain Management. While at I.U. I she was involved with many different student organizations including the Business Careers in Entertainment Club (BCEC).  During her time with the BCEC she captured a deal with I.U. Sports Properties to be the sole distributor of programs before the Football and Basketball games, planned two successful networking trips, and increased the number of members by 50 percent.  She also planned and executed a campus wide 3×3 basketball tournament (King of the Court) as well as a concert (Rock for Kids Sake) that raised money for organizations in Bloomington.

She was involved with Youth Advocating Leadership and Learning (Y’ALL).  On August 29, 2005 Katrina hit the Gulf Coast region of the Untied States.  During winter break 2005 IU sent over 200 volunteers to help with the damage.  Since then Y’ALL has gone back down every winter, spring, and summer break to help the victims of both Hurricane Katrina and more recently Hurricane Ike.  To Y’ALL has taken 12 trips to the Gulf Coast (Biloxi, MS, New Orleans, LA, and Orange Texas) and saved the residents over $1 million in labor cost. The motto is “Volunteer Today. Lead Tomorrow.” I started as a volunteer and now I am on the Executive Board. We are a registered   non-profit 501(c)(3).  The executive board oversees every aspect of the organization from writing grants to finding work and housing to filling each trip.

Other experiences include being an Advocate for Community Engagement (ACE) and My Sister’s Closet (MSC), who provides working attire clothing to women trying to reenter the working force. She is responsible of acquiring current service learners to complete their service at MSC, as well as find faculty and encouraging them to add a service learning component to their course.
